The Gopher Flats Sportsmen’s Club (GFSC) hosts Trap, Skeet, NRA High-Power Rifle, USPSA Practical Pistol, and SCSA Steel Challenge Matches. These matches, along with informal practice sessions all take place on the club’s private ranges. While most matches are open only to members and their guests, the monthly USPSA and SCSA matches are open to the public.
Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend a club meeting, on the fourth Tuesday of each month. These begin at 7:00pm in the meeting hall of:
American Legion Post #817
13553 Reedley Street
Panorama City, CA 91402
The hall has off-street parking and an adjacent full bar that is available to anyone attending the club meetings. The meetings follow the standard format, but are otherwise informal. As the meeting hall is in a residential neighborhood and not near the club ranges, firearms should not be brought to the meetings.
The Gopher Flats Sportsmen’s club was founded in the late 1940’s. Although none of the founding members are still around, current members range in age from pre-teens to retirees, and vary in gender, ethnicity, profession, and shooting experience. The only prerequisites to joining are an interest in the shooting sports and a cheerful outlook.
